“We’re Here For You Canada (WHFYC) is a survivor-led Canadian charity dedicated to supporting survivors of gender-based violence, including sexual assault, intimate partner violence, and family violence. We work with hospitals and Sexual Assault Nurse Examiners (SANE nurses) to provide survivors with immediate essentials, including clean clothing, undergarments, hygiene products, cultural support, gift cards, and resources. We are helping restore dignity, comfort, and a sense of control during an incredibly difficult time. If you or someone you know experiences sexual assault, you can seek help at a hospital and ask to speak with a SANE nurse, who is specially trained to provide compassionate, trauma-informed care, explain your options, and discuss medical care and forensic evidence collection. You do not have to report to the police to seek support. You deserve to be believed, respected, and supported, no matter what happened or when you choose to seek help. At WHFYC, our message is simple: You Are Not Alone.”
