The STUSU is excited to offer many Get Out The Vote Volunteer positions to help contribute to our Get Out The Vote Campaign taking place in the fall.

How to Apply: 

Please send the following items to su_president@stu.ca and su_vped@stu.ca before July 22nd, 2019 at 11:59 pm. Your completed application should include:  

-1 to 2 paragraphs describing why you want to Volunteer for STUSU’s GOTV campaign.

-An up to date resume; and

-Your class schedule for the fall semester

Non-Partisanship Requirement:

The GOTV Volunteers will work under the supervision of the STUSU and the 2 GOTV Coordinators.  As such, it is imperative that GOTV Volunteers remain apolitical and display no partisanship towards or preference for any political party while employed under this agreement. This applies to social interactions and social media as well.

Hours:

The GOTV Volunteers will be asked to work from September 1st - October 21st.  The STUSU will coordinate and then schedule the shifts of the GOTV Volunteers as required. 

Accessibility and Interaction:

The GOTV Volunteers will inform students about voting, campaigns, and any other relevant information pertaining to the election.

GOTV Volunteers will facilitate and participate in GOTV events, encourage students to participate in social media contests, and promote pledging to vote.

 During the days of voting on the campus, GOTV Volunteers will reach out to students, remind them about voting and direct them to voting locations. GOTV Volunteers will perform the activities described below from the start of their employment to the last voting day on campus.

Duties:

The GOTV Volunteers  will be responsible for:

·   Promoting the upcoming election to students

·   Displaying and distributing advertisements across campus, including:

o   putting up posters in buildings where permitted;

o   giving out any promotional material provided;

·   Wearing the official Get Out The Vote t-shirt while performing their duties;

·     Work with the 2 GOTV Coordinators, the STUSU President, and Vice-President Education

·   Assist in the execution of getting Out the Vote (GOTV) events or activities; and

·  Any other duties as identified by the Students’ Union.

Location:

GOTV Volunteers will work on campus at every relevant location, including voting locations and high-traffic areas.
